Welcome to Spanish 3 at Evergreen High School! In this class you will get to learn Spanish in an entirely immersive experience (Spanish 100% of the time).  You will learn through conversation, songs, reading news articles, and discussing things  and issues important to your lives.  This Spanish class will probably look and feel differently than other Spanish classes you’ve had, or that your family members and friends have had.

Course Objectives:

• Reach an intermediate low/mid proficiency level of Spanish.  This means being able to speak in more full sentences, keep a conversation going by asking follow up questions, talk around words you don’t know, practice talking about past events.
• Have an understanding of cultural products, practices and perspectives.
• Be able to make linguistic and cultural comparisons between home culture, and cultures studied.
• Learn about history and issues in diverse parts of Latin America.
• Demonstrate multiple levels of comprehension of texts and audio sources.
• Develop a better insight into our local Spanish speaking community and feel ownership over your learning of the language through enrichment activities outside of class.
